Pennsylvania whitewater, Licking Creek

Fulton county, Knobsville to US Route 30 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     8 miles
The starting location is a reasonable drive from Huntingdon, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section of Licking Creek is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. The natural
beauty of Fulton County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
