Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Pennsylvania is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The beautiful scenery of -blank- County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the   river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: The Irish Settlement Trail offers hiking at its best, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Mildred here. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Rock Run Trail, and Worlds End State Park is both great and picturesque. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Loyalsock Creek. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Loyalsock Creek.
