Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding.     The Old US Route 15 to Horner Road stretch of Marsh Creek is 3.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're coming from Gettysburg it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The campgrounds here at Marsh Creek are pretty good. There are many good   hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: Skiing at Ski Liberty is one of those things you just have to do, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Emmitsburg. Going for a hike along the High Rock Nature Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Looking for a great spree? Catoctin Mountain Park is quite near Marsh Creek. While you're here at Marsh Creek you can take a hike along the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail.
