If you're coming from Williamsport it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. This is an extremely short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at Miners Run are pretty good.

Run you'll probably meet some people from Roaring Branch; Miners Run is close to Fourth Bottom Hollow which is without doubt worth a visit. Go for a hike on the Old Loggers Path, and good hiking is available along the Doe
