Briefly about the general area: Lots of people from Drifting come to Moshannon River; hiking is a popular thing to do around Moshannon River; Old Huckleberry Trail is a delightful local trail. The Short Trail offers hiking at its best. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Moshannon River while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Moshannon River tend to be in the 10's. Moshannon River sees pretty high levels of rainfall.
