The water level would only be flotable after some heavy rain. I have seen it scary bad but pretty rare. Beautiful countryside though. Nice little swimming hole known as the ''panther hole'' pretty far up stream. Most of the nearby lnd is posted. The     beautiful scenery of Somerset County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The Little Piney Creek to Boynton section is the only paddling section along Piney Creek. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit   away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
