If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are     lots of good places for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting point is not too far from Somerset, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The nature scenery of Somerset County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and   over. Briefly about the general area: Quemahoning Creek is right by the East End Trail, and during your spree here you'll meet some people from Boswell for sure. A day on the slopes of The Springs at Laurel Mountain is just what you need, and do take a hike on the Spruce Run Trail. This river is always fun. All through the warm months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Quemahoning Creek. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; night lows at Quemahoning Creek during the wintertime mostly fall into the 10's. Quemahoning Creek is a good place of common rain.
