The Nesbitt Reservoir to Moosic stretch of Spring Brook in Lackawanna County is 7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This stretch is mid length,     it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. There's camping available near Spring Brook. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available   very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Lackawanna State Park is a perfect location to stretch your legs a bit, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Pinnacle Trail. This river has it all. Places like Frances Slocum State Park are nice to take a look at; there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Refuge Trail. The slopes of Sno Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Spring Brook while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's.
