  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lock Haven, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The natural beauty of Pennsylvania and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The State Forest Picnic Area to Babb Creek stretch of Stony Fork Creek is 4.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater
    as a class II-III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Pennsylvania is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

Go for a hike on the Fork Hill Trail; Leonard Harrison State Park is a perfect spot. Here at Stony Fork Creek you'll probably meet some people from Morris, and don't forget to have a look at Brown Point since you're here. This river is so great. A pleasant spot close to Stony Fork Creek is Ayers Hollow, and what would winter be without some skiing at Ski Sawmill. Going for a hike on the Stone Quarry Trail is always a good adventure. Stony Fork Creek is a good place of normal rain. The month with most of the rain is June, and the driest of the months is January.
