  The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Susquehanna River in Lancaster/York County is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There
    are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Marietta to Columbia stretch is one of them. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There's camping available
near Susquehanna River. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in location is a short drive from York-Hanover. The scenic beauty of Lancaster/York County and the water flowing gracefully down Susquehanna River attract  
people from near and far.

Briefly about the general area:
During your journey to Susquehanna River you'll meet some people from Bainbridge for sure. From a rainfall point of view Susquehanna River is a pretty typical spot. During the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Through the months of summer at Susquehanna River highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Susquehanna River dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
