CLASS III     2 miles
  The put-in is not too far from York-Hanover, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of York County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This section of Susquehanna River is 2 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this
    is an area with plenty of places for that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the
rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Saginaw Railroad Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.

Briefly about the general area:
If the weather is fine here at Susquehanna
 
River, you can go for a hike along the Camp Echo Trail; if you're dropping by from Mount Wolf, you won't be the only one. Don't leave Susquehanna River without first paying a visit to Haldeman Riffles. The yearly precipitation here at Susquehanna River is about average. Throughout May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Susquehanna River. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Susquehanna River temperatures drop to the 20's.
