The natural beauty of Bedford County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national     average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There's camping available near Town Creek. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Briefly about the general area: Lots of people from Clearville come to Town Creek, and Black Valley   is close at hand, and is a pleasant place. Good hiking is available along the Sawmill Trail, and you can go for a hike on the Carnes Trail. This river has so much to offer. Town Creek gets a typical amount of rainfall. July is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the warm months here at Town Creek, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Town Creek during the winter usually descend into the 10's.
