  The beautiful scenery of Pennsylvania and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The put-in is not too far from Erie, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature
    will make you glad you came. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a pretty decent
length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Walnut Creek in Erie County is 6.4 miles long and has been rated as a class II+(III) section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.

You'll meet a lot of people from Fairview here; Presque Isle State Park is a wonderful place to stretch your legs a bit. All through the summer months here at Walnut Creek, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's with overnight lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Walnut Creek sink into the 10's. Walnut Creek gets a typical amount of yearly rain. September is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January.
