  The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Wapwallopen Creek is 5.2 miles long and is a class
    I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that.
If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but  
if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
You're sure to encounter some good people from Conyngham here; places like Tuscarora State Park are great to visit.
