The natural beauty of Somerset County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.     There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Listonburg to Casselman River stretch is just one of many. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Whites Creek are in the 10's. Whites Creek is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall. July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
