The loop, the first 1.5 miles of the Lower has 7 rapids to keep anyone thoroughly entertained, then you just walk back to your car. The Confluence to Ohiopyle section of Youghiogheny River is 10.4 miles long and has been determined     by American Whitewater to be a class II section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Confluence to Ohiopyle section is just one of them. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This stretch has enough mileage   for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Great Gorge Trail, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Ohiopyle for sure. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Seven Springs is near Youghiogheny River. Youghiogheny River mostly gets a good deal of precipitation.
