The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Broad River in South Carolina is 17.9 miles long and it is classified as a class
I-II section by American Whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the South Carolina Route 18 Bridge to South Carolina Route 211 Bridge stretch is one of them. The beautiful scenery of Cherokee/
York County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. For all you camping
people there are campgrounds nearby.
