If you're coming from Brevard it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the water     flowing gracefully down Carrick Creek have people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Green Creek Con Fork to Pinnacle Lake section is one of them. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in South Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of   the sections in this state are pretty easy. Briefly about the general area: This is a popular location for folks from Cleveland; Caesars Head State Park is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit. Panther Gap is a great place to take a look at nearby, and when you're here it's always fun to visit Table Rock State Park. This is a great river. Carrick Creek frequently gets a good deal of rain. During the month of March you get the most rain around here while January is generally the driest month. High temperatures at Carrick Creek all through the summer months are in the 80's.
