The average South Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots     of paddling rivers. The starting point is not too far from Seneca, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here   worthwhile. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Here at Cedar Creek you'll most likely meet some folks from Long Creek; a spree to Oconee State Park rejuvenates the spirit. The Chattooga Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Cedar Creek; Lake Hartwell State Park is a good location to go. This is such a great river. There is a fine hiking trail near Cedar Creek called the Burrells Ford Trail. For the duration of the days of summer here at Cedar Creek, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's.
