The scenic beauty of South Carolina and the playfulness of the water beats anything. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels     fill up quick. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch of Cedar Shoals Creek in Spartanburg County is 2.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a   large number of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the New Hope Church Road to Horseshoe Falls Road section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Cedar Shoals Creek without first paying a visit to Gordons Mill Falls, and lots of people from Enoree come here. Cedar Shoals Creek is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rainfall. March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is September. Summertime at Cedar Shoals Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's.
