The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip.     You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The campgrounds here at Chauga River are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Oconee State Park is worth a visit if you're at Chauga River, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Scaly Mountain. The warmest time of the year at Chauga River comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's.
