This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Jones Gap Trail to Park section is just one of them. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The starting location is a short drive from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Saluda River in Greenville County is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section   of whitewater. There's camping available near Saluda River. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: Jones Gap State Park is a great spot to stop at on a delightful day, and Cleveland Cliff is a fine location to pop by while in the region. And that's not all there is to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lower Gap is a magnificent place to explore in close proximity to Saluda River; at Saluda River you always meet someone from Cleveland. A river like this is too good to miss. Don't leave Saluda River without first paying a visit to Rainbow Falls.
