Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back     for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. All through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's with temperatures at North Saluda River dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. North Saluda River is a quite wet place usually with a good deal of rainfall.
