Briefly about the general area: This is a popular place for folks from Marietta, and Blythe Shoals   is a good local attraction. A delightful place near South Saluda River is Lower Gap, and a magnificent spot like Caesars Head State Park is too great to leave out. This river is so wonderful. Going to Jones Gap State Park in the vicinity of South Saluda River is a great thing to do. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to South Saluda River, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to South Saluda River. All the water falling down from the sky makes South Saluda River a wet spot.
