Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight     trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. This section of South Saluda River is 15 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The average South Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Caesars Head State Park is a splendid site to visit on a pretty day; Jones Gap State Park is both perfect and beautiful. This is such a great river.
