The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Snow River in Oconee County is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in     this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. The Snow Creek Road to Lake Hartwell stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Briefly   about the general area: Everybody loves Tugaloo State Park, and beaches are pleasant and East Beach is no exception. Lake Hartwell State Park is a splendid location, and at Snow River you always meet someone from Seneca. At this river you will always have a good time. Snow River gets much water. March is the wettest month with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the months of summer here at Snow River, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while the cold winter nights at Snow River are in the 20's.
