  This stretch of Stevens Creek is 13.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+(III) section. The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the cool fresh water beats anything. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Greenwood, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem
    but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state
you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. There's camping available near Stevens Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

Stevens Creek is a site with many visitors from Parksville. Hamilton Branch State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Stevens Creek; do take a hike on the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail. This river has so much to offer. Don't leave Stevens Creek without dropping by Baker Creek State Park; hiking along the Horn Creek Hiking Trail is great fun. Stevens Creek is a quite wet place mostly with lots of precipitation. Most of the rain falls through March while November is commonly the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Stevens Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 90's.
