  The put-in is not too far from Cookevi lle, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Blackburn Fork in Jackson County is 19.9 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
    This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The TN 6294 to Roaring River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting some good
exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem  
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

While staying at Blackburn Fork you could always explore Tom Allen Hollow; Blackburn Fork is a place with many visitors from Bloomington Springs. Summertime highs at Blackburn Fork generally tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Blackburn Fork. Blackburn Fork is a quite wet place commonly with a lot of rain. March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is October.
