Tennessee whitewater, Bledsoe Creek

Sumner county, Ford west of Greenfield Road to Old Union Recreation Area section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     5 miles

Bledsoe creek was a real let down. The only time to go to this is if there has been atleast one inch of rain the previous day before you go. When we got there it was a dried up creek bed so there was no rafting for us that day; we just had to settle on practicing our rolls. Says Sean

The starting location is a short drive from Nashville-Davidson—Murfreesboro, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the
page. This stretch of Bledsoe Creek is 5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Sumner County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Bledsoe Creek make
the trip here worthwhile. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The campgrounds here at Bledsoe Creek are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around
here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.
