The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Jett to Lilly stretch is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater     rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The put-in is not too far from Harriman. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. This section of Clear Creek in Tennessee is 2.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly   about the general area: Obed Wild & Scenic River is a great local destination here at Clear Creek, and a tour to Clear Creek wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Lilly Rapids. This spot, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things. During your visit to Clear Creek you'll meet some people from Lancing for sure. A short tour to The Grunch Rapids is always worthwhile. Throughout the days of summer here at Clear Creek, high temperatures generally reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
