If you're coming from Chattanooga it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Deep Creek are pretty good. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for     more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Mowbray to Soddy section is one of them. The natural beauty of Hamilton County and the playfulness   of the water beats anything. When you're paddling down a Cumberland Plateau Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Deep Creek without first paying a visit to Hineman Spring, and you'll meet a lot of people from Soddy Daisy here. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. You are in close proximity to Clemmons Point if you're here at Deep Creek, and don't leave without stopping by Booker T. Washington State Park. This is a really good river.
