Briefly about the general area: A delightful place like Sycamore Shoals State Park right next door to Doe River is too great to leave out,
and this is a popular spot for people from Roan Mountain. A trip to Doe River wouldn’t be complete without a spree to close by Roan Mountain State Park; a magnificent site close by is Johnson Hollow. This river is a wonderful
place to visit. Going for a hike on the Laurel Fork Trail is always a nice adventure. Summertime highs at Doe River mostly tend to be in the 80's.
