This stretch of Dunlap Creek is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. No matter if you're whitewater     rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The Jolley Road to Piney River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The   campgrounds here at Dunlap Creek are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Have a great hiking adventure along the Fooshee Pass Trail. Cumberland Mountain State Park is a perfect spot to pop by, and a short spree to Stinging Fork Falls is always worthwhile. This river is so wonderful. Dunlap Creek is not far at all from Grandview, and going for a hike along the Laurel-Snow Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Summer at Dunlap Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's with temperatures at Dunlap Creek dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
