  The beautiful scenery of Morgan County and the water flowing gracefully down Emory River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Harriman, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The river winds through the Cumberland Plateau Mountains and you get great scenery. Whitewater
    rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one
day trip. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This section of Emory River in Morgan County is 6.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels  
nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Don't miss out on a tour to Obed Wild & Scenic River since you're here at Emory River; a tour to Frozen Head State Park is a splendid idea. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great! Low Gap is in the neighborhood of Emory River and is unquestionably a nice spot to explore, and if you're dropping by from Wartburg, you won't be the only one. Lots of fun awaits you along this river.
