If you're coming from Crossville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end     up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. This section of Little Hurricane Creek in Overton/Fentress County is 1.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other   states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There's camping available near Little Hurricane Creek. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Muddy Pond Road to Hurricane Creek section is one of them.
