  If you're coming from Sevierville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There are nice comfortable hotels here,
    but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This
section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Ramsey's Cascade trailhead to Porters Creek confluence stretch of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong in Tennessee is 1.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV+ section of whitewater. The  
natural beauty of Sevier County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Whitewater paddling here in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great experience. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong you can take a hike along the Messer Trail; you have to definitely pop by Cat Stairs while you're here. All year is a fine time in the Great Smoky Mountains if you love the outdoors. If the weather is splendid here at Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong, you can go for a hike along the Sugarland Mountain Trail; the slopes of Ober Gatlinburg are so inviting noone can resist.
