This stretch of Little Pigeon River - West Prong is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains     is a great plus for this river. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The put-in location is a short drive from Sevierville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time   outdoors are great reasons to come. There's tremendous hiking along the Sugarland Mountain Trail, and you can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Ober Gatlinburg.
