The starting location is a short drive from Crossville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater paddling here in     the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section of Little Piney Creek in Rhea County is 1.75   miles long and is a class III-IV(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: If you're addicted to cool geologic highlights, try Whiteoak Bottoms; a visit to Upper Piney Falls will fill your soul with delightful feelings. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. A magnificent place to take a look at close to Little Piney Creek is Shut in Gap, and Little Piney Creek is not far at all from Grandview. This is such a wonderful river. There is a tremendous hiking trail near Little Piney Creek called the Laurel-Snow Trail, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Lower Piney Falls.
