Tennessee whitewater, North Chickamauga Creek Hamilton county, Walden Ridge to Soddy-Daisy section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V     12 miles   This stretch of North Chickamauga Creek is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Hamilton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from Chattanooga, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking     or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Walden Ridge to Soddy-Daisy stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can   camp. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Big Bend is an interesting place to go to while at North Chickamauga Creek; if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Hardy Trail. Harrison Bay State Park is both good and picturesque, and it's in the vicinity of North Chickamauga Creek, and you are in close proximity to Buzzard Point if you're here. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. Booker T. Washington State Park is a pleasant place to explore on a wonderful day, and a visit to Barker Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings.
