When you're paddling down a Cumberland Plateau Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery     along the way too. This stretch of Piney Creek in Tennessee is 11.1 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The nearby hotels are a   bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: Nearby Hinds Valley is a good spot to go if you're at Piney Creek, and you're sure to encounter some nice folks from Rockwood here. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has to offer. The Fooshee Pass Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Piney Creek.
