There is no public input at new hope road. It is fenced and posted for tresspassing. Stock gap road no longer exists. It is now private property. Says Paul Puryear
The 3-mile run between the Boils and the fish barrier dam on this river is runable throughout the summer months due to input of water from the Boils. Tubing is great during July, although a little cool. Says Larry Lee

other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section of Roaring River is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The campgrounds here
at Roaring River are pretty good. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Highway 135 to Stock Gap Road Bridge section is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area
has a large number of paddling rivers. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
