CLASS IV(V)     7 miles
The Stinging Fork Falls to Piney River section of Stinging Fork is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV(V) section. The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here
you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The starting location is a short drive from Crossville, if you're not familiar with the
area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle,
it's good length for a morning trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
