The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The natural beauty of Marion/Sequatchie County and the playfulness     of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section of North Suck Creek in Marion/Sequatchie County is 2.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV+(V) section. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be   paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Hardy Trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Whiteside here. You truly have to adore the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Skyuka Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes North Suck Creek a wet location. March is when you get the most rain here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the warmest time of the year at North Suck Creek highs are typically in the 80's.
