Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The nature scenery of Monroe County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are   reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Near Tellico River you stumble on the Cow Camp Trail which is a nice hiking trail; a perfect site is Papaw Cove. All year is a perfect time in the Great Smoky Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Don't leave Tellico River without first paying a visit to Bald River Falls; going for a hike on the Bald River Trail is always a nice adventure. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer.
