Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.     The natural beauty of Texas and the water flowing gracefully down Barton Creek make the trip here worthwhile. This river system is full   of great paddling sections, the SH 71 to Lost Creek section is just one of them. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Barton Creek without first going for a hike along the Waterfall Trail, and folks from Austin love to come here. There are good places to look at along the Pecan Grove Trail, and a great place is Hebbingston Hollow. This river is so wonderful. McKinney Falls State Park is a fine place to go if you're at Barton Creek It's always good to visit Canyon Spring.
