The Cayote to FM 2490 stretch of Childress Creek in Bosque McLennan County is 17 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. | runs in this state are very easy. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
