  The wonderful Travis County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. If you're coming from Austin-Round Rock it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Colorado River in Travis County is 0.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or
    both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are some good hotels near the river,
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is very short so better bring some good walking shoes.

If the weather is delightful here at Colorado River, you can go for a hike along
the Roy Guerrero Colorado River Park Trail. When you're here at Colorado River it's always fun to have a look at McKinney Falls State Park; Oak Spring is an inspiring location to visit during your stay. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. On a great day at Colorado River you can take a hike along the Boggy Creek Greenbelt Trail, and Colorado River is not far at all from Austin-Round Rock. The annual precipitation here at Colorado River is about average. For the duration of May this area sees the most rain; January is when it's the driest. For the duration of the summer months here at Colorado River, high temperatures frequently reach the 90's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
