  The starting point is not too far from Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The scenic beauty of Texas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. This stretch of Cowhouse
    Creek in Texas is 33 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are
a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
The smiling people of Evant like to hang out nearby. At Cowhouse Creek through the summer highs are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 70's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Cowhouse Creek. Cowhouse Creek is a good spot of common rain. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and December meanwhile is the driest month.
