This section of Dry Frio River in Texas is 12 miles long and has been rated     as a class II-III(IV) section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. The nature scenery of Uvalde County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Briefly   about the general area: Garner State Park is a great place to go if you're at Dry Frio River, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Concan. If you're here, you might as well visit Long Canyon; going for a hike on the Garner State Park Trail is always a great adventure. This river is so good. Dry Frio River gets a normal amount of yearly rain. The wettest month of the year is ordinarily October, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is December. Throughout the summer at Dry Frio River highs are generally in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
