The natural beauty of McLennan County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter,
     this is an area with not too many other places for that. The put-in is not too far from Waco, as you can see on the road map further down. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there
are a few others too. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The Crawford to FM 3047 stretch of Middle Bosque River in McLennan County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room  
before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Middle Bosque River; Mother Neff State Park Trail is a splendid local trail. Mother Neff State Park is a good place to go if you're at Middle Bosque River; at Middle Bosque River you always meet someone from Crawford. This is such a fun river. Summer at Middle Bosque River comes with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 70's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 50's with temperatures at Middle Bosque River dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights.
